Group Brings BBQ Relief to Wayne, NE

For the past three years Operation BBQ Relief has been helping those in need, to fill their stomachs.

They started when a devastating tornado hit Joplin, Missouri and they've been working hard ever since

"We've done everything from hurricanes to Tornadoes, the flooding, the explosion in West Texas, and now we are in the home state and helping out here," said Troy YoungBlood, the Omaha representative.

Though they do help the community clean up in any way they can, Operation BBQ Relief has a different kind of mission, making sure volunteers and those affected by disasters have something to eat.

It's the old fashioned way of getting to someone's heart through their stomach.

"The food just comes with part of what we do.It's more for us the fellowship, giving back, paying forward, whatever else you wanna call it," YoungBlood added.
